TULSA Pipeline College
PDH Opportunities for Professional Engineers!
The Tulsa Pipeline College was created in March of 2018 as a way to educate pipeliners on all aspects of the pipeline industry. The Tulsa area is home to engineering, construction, operating, and manufacturing companies that design, build, and operate pipelines. The employees of these companies have a vast knowledge of their respective fields, and this knowledge needs to be available to employees in all the various components of pipelining.
The Pipe Liners’ Club of Tulsa is sponsoring the Pipeline College to make this knowledge available to everyone. The classes are for anyone but we are trying to target younger pipeliners and engineers so they can get out and see how the equipment they spec actually works.
In addition, the classes are free of charge and Professional Engineers will receive a PDH (professional development hour) credit. Classes are scheduled 2 per month and begin at 5:00pm unless otherwise noted.
If you are interested in providing a class or would like more information, please contact us.
Strata EPC
The first Pipeline College class of spring will be on February 10th at 5:00pm. Mr. Rama Challa with Strata EPC will be giving a presentation on Cryogenic & Refrigerated Storage Tanks: Design, Codes, and Execution in Practice.
For pipeline professionals, cryogenic and refrigerated storage tanks represent a critical interface where design assumptions, code requirements, and operational realities converge. This presentation provides a technical overview of cryogenic storage tank systems with emphasis on design philosophy, governing standards (API 625, API 620, NFPA 59A, and 49 CFR Part 193), and execution-phase lessons learned. Topics include containment concepts, materials of construction, foundations, insulation, tank appurtenances, pressure relief, boil-off gas handling, and post-construction activities such as testing, purging, and cooldown.
This class will be held at Gradient, 12 N Cheyenne Ave, Tulsa, OK 74103.
Enduro Pipeline Services
Pigging 101 begins with a guided tour of Enduro's headquarters, giving attendees a firsthand look at their processes and how every tool is built. Following the tour, one of Enduro's pigging experts will cover the fundamentals of pipeline cleaning, including the types of pigs available and why proper cleaning is critical to safe, successful pipeline operations.
