BKW Pig Switch

The BKW Pig Switch was developed to run pigs from one pipeline into two pipelines, eliminating Pig Launchers.

We manufacture two types of Pig Switches: Non-Sealing and Sealing.

The Non-Sealing Switch uses an arm to direct the pig into the pipeline requiring pigging without restricting the flow into the pipeline not requiring pigging. The two pipelines do not have to be the same diameter.

The Sealing Switch blocks flow to the pipeline that does not require pigging. This type requires special pigs and cannot be switched unless there is zero pressure drop between the legs.

Both types of Switches can be automated for remote operation, and all switches are customized to the application. This includes in and out configurations such as forks, tees, Y's, and various combinations. In addition, vents, drains, and pig indicators can be installed on the switch.

An Engineering History pack is provided with every Switch from BKW which includes a drawing, MTR’s, radiographic inspection reports on all pressure welds, and hydro-static test reports.

3-way Pig Switch

BKW has designed a 3-way Pig Switch that allows pigs to travel in six directions as required in gathering systems.
