BKW has developed new technology for raising sections or entire roofs to provide more ceiling height. Companies adding new equipment or changing work methods may have to raise the roof of existing buildings to obtain the necessary ceiling height. Raising a portion of the roof instead of building a new building may be an economical solution to the problem.

BKW raises roofs using hydraulic jacks that are a permanent part of the building. The jacks are used for the support columns. Following the roof raising, the raised section is walled in and sealed. BKW will provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision on site.

The latest roof raising job occurred in Victoria, TX, requiring a 6,000 sq. ft. section of a manufacturing plant to be raised from 30 feet of clearance to 50 feet.  The job required eight columns and eight trusses.  The actual roof raising time took 10 hours, and this included the installation of six vent fans and six vents.  The job was on schedule and under budget.
